Max always got so excited when he saw a cat, I was sure he wanted to eat them. Then he rescued tiny Slidell from a male cat, who had stolen the kitten, and it was clear that loving - not eating - them was what was on his mind. Next came Django, our black-and-white, who, true to his gypsy name, eventually wandered off. Piaf, our grey singer, and an alpha’s alpha, was living in the rafters of a neighbor’s garage until Max persuaded her to come live with us. A villager heard we had lost Django, and gave us Jackson, another black-and-white, as consolation. Then Slidell brought Belle home one night, and Jackson fell in love. Belle, however, proved fickle, so Jackson, ever resilient, went out and brought home a playmate, a male omega like himself, and Beau Diddley became the fifth member of the Simpson pride. The latest addition is Luna, our little midnight shadow. Unfortunately, she and Beau had irreconcilable differences, so Beau moved in with our friends, Claudie and Dany.
